For parents and teachers
Pompolo makes free learning games without ads. Here you can read what we promise, how the games work and how your child is doing.
What we promise
- No ads and no in-game purchases.
- No account, no cookies, no tracking and no analytics services.
- Progress is stored only in the browser on this device (localStorage). We cannot see it.
- Our web server does not store IP addresses. The site is delivered through the Cloudflare network, which technically processes IP addresses to do so. No files or fonts are loaded from third parties.
- No streaks, rewards or notifications to lure children back. Every round has a clear ending.
How the games teach
- The learning is the game action itself: counting to feed an animal, finding a province to deliver a parcel.
- The level adapts to what your child can already do, not to age or school year.
- After a mistake the game shows what is right, and your child gets to finish it.
- Places your child does not know yet come back more often (spaced repetition).
Inspired by the Dalton principles
- Freedom and responsibility
- Your child chooses the game and level; the game only gives advice.
- Independence
- Spoken instructions and clear feedback, so your child can play without help.
- Reflection
- After every round: what went well, what will I practise, and how did I feel?
- Cooperation
- Tip: play together on one screen. One steers, the other searches the map.
Pompolo is not affiliated with any Dalton association.
Learning goals
- Feed the animals
- One-to-one counting to 10, recognising quantities (dice patterns), linking numerals to quantities (ages 4–6).
- Parcel pilot: the Netherlands
- Provinces, provincial capitals and big cities of the Netherlands (ages 8–10).
- Parcel pilot: Europe
- Countries and capitals of Europe (ages 10–12).
